Life here is slower than it is on the Mainland, but we're still close to Seattle's amenities. You can attend a Sporting event or a night at the Opera by taking a short Ferry and 30-45 minute drive.  The mainland is accessible by ferry on the south and a bridge to the north. Canada is just a couple of hours drive from Langley or Freeland. Our tourism is robust enough to provide income to fine restaurants and shops without becoming cumbersome.
If you don't wish to drive long distances for entertainment, Whidbey Island is blessed with a wide variety of artistic venues. Many artists, musicians, and playwrights have made their home on Whidbey.

Whidbey Island is also an outdoor wonderland. Come hike in our forests, walk on our beaches, or Sail our waters. I won't even attempt to tell you what our fishing and crabbing is like!
